The Whiskey Room at miro is a sophisticated and luxurious space, set apart from the other areas of the restaurant and bar. It is a completely private room, with seating for 16-20, featuring exposed brick walls, overstuffed leather armchairs and couches, and appropriately-dim ambient lighting. The room evinces a feeling of an era gone by. Located just off of the Downstairs Bar at miro, guests can leave the hustle of downtown Los Angeles behind, and settle in to an environment celebrating this magical spirit.
miro’s collection of scotches and international whiskies is unlike any other in Los Angeles. Offering some of the rarest and most highly-allocated bottles from around the world, The Whiskey Room is truly a bon vivant’s playground, and an aficionado’s paradise. Comprising nearly 400 bottles, the collection boasts numerous high-age statement and closed-distillery whiskies from Scotland, exceptionally rare and coveted bourbons and ryes from the United States, and a large number of Japanese whiskies rightly nicknamed “unicorns,” due to their rarity and scarceness. The Whiskey Room also offers highly sought-after expressions from Taiwan, Europe, Ireland, India, Australia, and the rest of the world.
Service of these fine whiskies is made in 1- or 2-oz pours, allowing for sampling of multiple expressions and styles in a single visit. Crystal glassware is de rigeur, and hand-cut ice is available for those who might choose to chill their spirits. There is a 100+ page hard-cover bound book featuring overviews of more than 50 major distilleries and producers, and offering Whiskey Room guests tasting notes and detailed information regarding each of those producers’ expressions offered at miro. There is also a locker service available for those who may prefer to purchase and store bottles from our collection, and drink their whiskey at their leisure.
The collection has been assembled and is carefully curated by miro Spirits Director Josh Allen, and General Manager Tyler Dow.
